Hulloo! Concert week is almost over! Yippee!! I mean yeah, it sure is fun, but I've had to lug my school bag + cello to my super far away classroom almost everyday. (and I always encounter steep hills -_-)
So on the holidays, I was lucky enough to be on a plane with in flight entertainment, so I stumbled upon this American comedy tv show called Fresh off the Boat. It's about these Taiwanese FOBs (people who immigrate to a foreign country and the sorts.) who move from DC to Orlando, and live in a house consisting of: 2nd generation parents; Jessica and Louis Huang, their three ABC boys, Eddie, Emery & Evan and their grandma, who only speaks to them in chinese. It's super super funny and oh my god so relatable!
As an ABC kid, this is actually so funny to watch, because many of the scenarios in the tv show are often exactly what happens in my life. Like when someone talks to you in chinese but you reply in English cuz you know your chinese sucks.. yep.
So apparently the show is based on a book by this guy called Eddie Huang, a 2nd generation Taiwanese guy himself. The book is like a memoir (I think??) about Eddie. He likes rap music and co-owns a gua bao restaurant called Baohaus in New York with his brother Evan which sells Taiwanese food.
So, this show has actually be going on for a while now, but yeah. So this week I sort of remembered that I watched this awesome tv show on the plane and set out to find somewhere where I could watch it for free. The abc website had a watch the latest episode thing, but you had to have signed up to an american tv network or live in America. (so sad, whyyyy??!!!) You could also watch it on youtube, but you have to pay. And I ain't gonna pay no monay.
But guess what? I found a site (or two!) Here:
Source 1:
Source 2: (!! btw, most of the site is in chinese, so I wouldn't recommend clicking this one in case you click on a computer bug !!)
